Privacy & Data Policy

This policy explains what In Shambles Productions, Inc. (“we,” “us”) collects and how we handle it when you use Deslop My Book (the “Service”).
What we collect
- Your email address — so we can send you your assessment and your results, and communicate with you about your transaction.
- The manuscript you upload, and basic details about it (title, genre, word count).
- How you found us — if you arrive through one of our ads or links, we store the source tags, a broad mobile-or-desktop device category, and the time of the visit. We do not store your IP address or full browser user-agent with this visit, use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, or report your activity to ad platforms.
- Payment information — processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
- Basic technical and log data needed to operate and secure the Service.
How we use it
We use your information solely to provide the Service: to analyze your manuscript, return your results, process your payment, and support you. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your manuscript to train our own models.
Third-party processing
As part of delivering the Service, your document is analyzed using third-party LLM platforms. Those providers’ handling of data is governed by our agreements with them.
How long we keep it
- If you ask us to email you a link to the Service, the email address you gave is deleted after 30 days. If you opt in to updates, we keep your email address to send them until you unsubscribe — every one of those emails has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Uploads you don’t purchase are deleted after 7 days.
- Download links to your results expire after 30 days.
- Your manuscript and your results are deleted within 30 days of delivery.
- Transaction records — including your email address and payment details — are retained for up to 7 years, as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance. These are kept separately from your manuscript, which is deleted on the schedule above.
- You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see below). We will honor the request except where we are legally required to retain a transaction record.
Anonymized statistics we keep. After your manuscript and results are deleted, we retain an anonymized statistical record of the job to measure and improve the Service — for example word count, genre, the number and types of AI patterns detected, and the generic over-used phrases our tool flags as AI-characteristic. This record is not linked to your identity and does not include your manuscript, its title, or your uploaded file. The flagged phrases are common, non-distinctive constructions, identified precisely because they are over-used across AI-generated writing.
Your choices
You can request access to, or deletion of, your personal data by emailing legal@deslopmybook.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly.
